Weekend Day Drinking

I like drinking beer. Especially on weekend afternoons.

Trillium is a local brewery that did a “pop-up” beer garden in a Boston suburb during the winter months. My boyfriend and I met up with friends there one recent Saturday afternoon. The place was packed.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I thought at the time, “Oh, I’ll remember the names of the beers I try,” and did not write them down. When will I learn that I have never had a good memory? I know that I tried two beers, one of which was an IPA. And they were both enjoyable.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I’ve done a lot of eating and drinking for the birthday list so far this year. More exciting things to come, I promise. Such as touring a submarine (on land) and seeing Bill Murray sing…

Roast Beef and Chicken

I finally went to two restaurants that I’ve been hearing about for years.

Sam LaGrassa’s is a lunch spot near my office.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A few coworkers and I went for lunch at 11:30, because there is not a lot of seating and the place is packed at lunchtime. The number of sandwich options is mind boggling. I ordered a roast beef sandwich on a cheese roll. It was really good. Simple but good. Having technical difficulties uploading the photo of the sandwich…

Cutty’s is a sandwich shop in my town. Once a month on a Sunday, the shop offers a fried chicken sandwich.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I’ve heard of lines forming for this lovely chicken sandwich, which does run out. Allen and I arrived by noon. There was a line, but it moved pretty swiftly. Within 30 minutes, we were seated with our honey mustard chicken sandwiches. It doesn’t look like much, but, wow. It is tasty. Chicken was cooked perfectly, honey mustard was delicious, and the bun was great.

 

 

 

 

 

 

As we waited, we looked at the regular menu. Everything looked scrumptious. Might be time to become a regular…
