Watch Me Unravel

I saw Weezer perform its “blue album” on its Memories tour on Tuesday.  The debut album came out in 1994, when I was a sophomore in college. It’s one of my favorite albums of all time. So imagine how excited I was to be in the 7th ROW. I could actually kind of see the stage! If I ruled the world, everyone under 5’2″ who attended a concert would be whisked to the first 10 rows of the venue.

The show was incredible. I wish all bands would go back into their catalogs and perform an entire album that they recorded 10+ years ago.

Rivers Cuomo, will you marry me?

Two days after Weezer, my friend Mary and I were sitting in Symphony Hall, watching the Boston Pops play Christmas music. It was just what I needed: two hours of sitting and enjoying the music of the season. Two hours of not writing holiday cards, not shopping for gifts, not attending parties…all of that is really fun, of course! But I feel like we have all been so busy that we don’t leave ourselves much time to relax and enjoy this time of year.

So, here’s hoping that you have some time to enjoy the season. Watch a holiday movie, listen to holiday music while cleaning your kitchen, take a break from shopping and treat yourself to a hot chocolate…
