I went to Martha’s Vineyard for the first time over Labor Day weekend. A friend of a friend rented a place in Edgartown.
The trip got off to a rough start. Mary and I couldn’t find the house at first. We were walking around kind of aimlessly, dragging luggage behind us. We ended up on a farm and stumbled around there for a while…and met this cute horse.
We eventually found the house and dropped off our luggage. Things started to go our way after that. We headed to Offshore Ale Company in Oak Bluffs for some well-deserved refreshment. The next day we spent a few hours at South Beach before checking out the shops in Edgartown.
On my last day, we strolled around Oak Bluffs to shop for tchotchkes. We ate ice cream for lunch and checked out some of the cute gingerbread cottages.
Nice beaches, lots of ice cream shops, some good beer and seafood…I give the Vineyard a thumbs up.
Sounds like a fun time. Glad you made it to the beach before fall sets in. Nothing says vacation like ice-cream for lunch.
