Thanks to Jeannine and Lisa for helping me to check off items 28–30 this weekend! Yesterday, Jeannine and I went to the National Heritage Museum in Lexington, to check out the Jim Henson exhibit. It was WONDERFUL. I love Jim Henson even more now…and I didn’t think that was possible. We also saw an exhibit of breathtakingly gorgeous photos of some of the national parks. Then we headed to Watch City Brewing Company in Waltham. Mmm beer. I tried the Shillelagh Irish Red, and one called Bitchloden. They were both really good.
Today, I met Lisa for afternoon tea at L’Espalier. It might be my new favorite place for afternoon tea in Boston. The pastries were all divine, and the tea was very nice. And the atmosphere was nice as well.
I have two weekends left before my birthday. I am going to try to see a historic home next Saturday, the Nichols House Museum. And I just started reading The Autobiography of Alice B. Stoklas by Gertrude Stein (#20 in the Modern Library’s list of top 100 nonfiction books). Movin’ right along, as Kermit and Fozzie would say.
