The end of 2011, that is. Hope everyone survived, maybe even enjoyed, the holidays. I can’t quite believe that it is over. The lack of snow has thrown me for a loop. I am still listening to Christmas music and slogging my way through the remainder of the baked goods explosion in my kitchen.
I am not sorry to see 2011 in the rearview mirror. I hope that 2012 brings some positive change. Here are a few quotes to ponder:
“The object of a new year is not that we should have a new year. It is that we should have a new soul and a new nose; new feet, a new backbone, new ears, and new eyes. Unless a particular man made New Year resolutions, he would make no resolutions. Unless a man starts afresh about things, he will certainly do nothing effective.” —G.K. Chesterton
“For last year’s words belong to last year’s language
And next year’s words await another voice.
And to make an end is to make a beginning.” —T.S. Eliot
“Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any one thing.” —Abraham Lincoln
