Nature and Art

Nature and art are so uplifting in the good times and so healing in the bad. I’ve felt completely directionless after my mother’s recent death. I’m forcing myself to participate in the world because I know my mother would want me to. I’m taking it slow.

I joined AARP when I turned 50 because I can’t resist a discount or a deal. My membership has already paid for itself, because Allen and I took advantage of free entry to the New England Botanic Garden a few weeks ago.

Our visit offered a temporary reprieve from mourning. The gardens and grounds are so lovely, and there are also amazing kinetic sculptures and art exhibits to enjoy. I love a good cafe and shop, too…

When I’m surrounded by nature, I can’t help but hear the message that all is as is it should be. It may not be perfect; it may not make sense. It just is.
