A Visit to Greece

Just kidding…I WISH I had just visited Greece. The next best thing was to try a Greek restaurant in our neighborhood, Bar Vlaha.

It’s a small restaurant, and many of the tables are long and I’m guessing communal. Allen and I were tucked into a cozy corner with a few small tables, possibly because I had noted in the online reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary.

Everything we had was delicious and so different from the norm! We tried prasokeftedes, which were fritters consisting of potato, leek, and feta. I ordered a slice of aradopita, which was a slice of pie made of cornmeal, greens, and feta, and topped with fresh dill. I did not expect it to be as filling as it was. I would definitely order it again.

Allen had pastitsio, which was similar to lasagna yet with very interesting spices. We were treated with prosecco and olive oil ice cream for our anniversary, which was very sweet and appreciated. All of the staff were friendly and the vibe was warm and welcoming. We are excited to visit for brunch in the near future!
