September Events

I just returned from a lovely vacation in Maine. I attended an awesome wedding (Hooray for Dais and Az) and drank in lots of beautiful scenery at Acadia National Park. More on that later.

Here are some September events of note:

9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance

I’m not sure if I knew that 9/11 has been deemed a day of service as well as remembrance. Well, it’s a wonderful idea, and I will think of the victims and their loved ones when I’m volunteering that night.

You can search for local volunteer opportunities here.

People’s Climate March

September 21. New York City.

This is going to be big…really big. People from around the country (and the globe) will take to the streets to demand that governments start taking climate change seriously. The march will happen two days before the UN Climate Summit.

Smithsonian Museum Day Live

OK, here’ s a fun and happy event. During this annual event hosted by Smithsonian magazine, hundreds of museums are waiving admission fees on September 27. You just have to print out tickets!
