My mom and I like to travel together, so I planned to take her somewhere for her birthday earlier this year. Wanting to find a unique place to stay that wasn’t too far from Rochester, I came upon Belhurst Castle, which is on one of the Finger Lakes.
We stayed in a separate building that used to be the carriage house. It was nice to have our own little bungalow.
When we arrived, we walked around the part of the property facing the lake and had dinner at one of the restaurants. We strolled around the gift shop and I bought a book about ghosts at the castle. I love ghost stories.
We left the next morning and stopped to take in the view of Seneca Lake from another vantage point. I would stay at Belhurst again—next time trying one of the rooms in the castle that has a complimentary wine spigot!
