A bunch of independent bookstores around the country broadcasted a talk with English primatologist Jane Goodall and German forester Peter Wohlleben recently. Jane Goodall is a rock star in my book, so I jumped at the opportunity to watch her and Peter talk about his new book, The Heartbeat of Trees.
The talk was moderated by a book reviewer (unfortunately, I forget her name). If I recall correctly, they didn’t talk about the book that much; they just talked about their professional backgrounds and riffed on the importance of trees and conservation. I felt like I was watching two dear friends chat over tea about how much they love nature.
I didn’t know of Peter Wohlleben before this talk, but now I want to read all of his books about trees and buy his children’s books about trees for my niece. So many books to read, so little time! Not a bad problem to have…
