Brookies and Peanut Butter Lovers Reese’s

Trader Joe’s is my main grocery store. I usually don’t pay the sweet treats section any mind, but the other day I decided to peruse it as I strolled by. Something caught my eye.

Brookies.

I do enjoy a good chocolate chip cookie once in a while and I love brownies. I was intrigued enough to put a package in my shopping basket.

Not surprisingly, this is a very sweet treat. I enjoyed the duality of it; one second I was eating a cookie, the next second I was eating a brownie. I’m not one to keep sweet treats in the house, so I may not buy these again. But I might bring them to a party just to see people’s reactions.

One sweet treat I do usually have in the house during the holidays is Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. Chocolate and peanut butter is a beautiful thing. Peanut Butter Lovers Reese’s caught my eye in CVS recently, and I decided to try them.

I don’t have a verdict yet. Even though the outer shell is still chocolate, the peanut butter top overshadows the chocolate so much that you really can’t taste it. ….Which is the point, I guess. It reminds me of the Reese’s Peanut Butter Easter Eggs. The peanut butter is stronger than the chocolate in the eggs, too, which I sometimes cherish. Maybe it just comes down to being in the mood for a peanut butter treat or not.
